Welcome back to the Blue Room with Crisp Marketing! This month’s spotlight will be on Jason Harmon, our Senior Marketing Coordinator here at the Memphis office.
Hi Jason! Let’s start off with how long you’ve been part of our team here at Crisp?
On my 5th year
Give us an idea of what you do regularly in your role.
Everything from ROI reporting to managing the design team
What would your coworkers tell me if I asked them to tell me about you? In other words, how are you known at work?
Funny, goofy, understanding, and dedicated?
What do you enjoy most about your current position?
I enjoy my work very much, and I appreciate the people that I work with.
Would you consider yourself right-brain or left-brain dominant and why?
I’m pretty evenly both. Even took an online test that proved it. Ha.
What are your favorite places to go in Memphis?
Zoo, Grizzlies Games, Redbirds Games, Wolfchase Mall
Before working at Crisp, what is the most unusual or most interesting job you ever had?
My first job out of college. Working for the world’s leader in aftermarket racing parts… COMP Performance Group. Went to a LOT of professional car races.
What month and day is your birthday?
Where did you go to school?
Proud graduate of Arkansas State University
What is your favorite movie and book?
I have a favorite in each genre, not an overall. Like… Forrest Gump, American History X, Seven, Major League, Undercover Brother, etc.
Who are three famous people (living or dead) that you admire or relate to?
My First is Ken Griffey Jr. In my opinion, he’s one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He inspired me to play and also was a perfect family man/role model.
My Second is probably Martin Luther King Jr. What he did and during that time is simply mind-blowing. Great man.
The person that I look up to the most of all, however, is my mom. She passed in 2001 from a brain tumor, but she taught me all the good things that make up my strengths, and I carry all of it over to how I raise my daughter.
Tell us a little bit about your life outside of work. (hobbies, family life, side jobs, etc)
I have an amazing daughter that is my entire life. Outside of that, I still coach youth baseball, and I watch a lot of sports. Any time I can see a game… I do.
Tell us a story about something cool you have done – a vacation, accomplishment, something like that.
My most memorable vacation… My most memorable vacation was taking my baby girl to Belize/Cozumel and doing some rafting through a cave system and also zip-lining through the jungle.
Describe your teenage self. What were you like as a teenager?
I was very social, played every sport that I could get into, and just loved to get out and hang out with all my friends.
What would your friends/family say about you if I asked them to tell me about you? How are you known outside of work?
Caring Father, first and foremost. After that, probably funny guy, loyal friend, outgoing, helpful, etc.
If you could spend a day hanging out with anyone from any time period, who would it be and why?
Mine would be my daughter. I don’t get to see her as often as I want, so before any celebrities or anything else, my daughter would be first person I’d love to have a day with.
What are a couple of life or career lessons that you have learned so far?
Stay positive, focused, and keep trying. Pointing blame takes longer than just taking charge and making it happen.
What advice would you give your teenage self?
Not sure I’d give my teenage self any advice. Once I changed anything about my past, it’d probably affect the good things that came from my mistakes, and I’d personally like to hang on to those.
What is your life philosophy, motto or favorite quote?
Fight all the fears that keep you from living. They will just someday turn into regrets.
